Hawkin Dynamics is excited to announce our new partnership with the British Super League Rugby club, Salford Red Devils. The British Super League is the top tier of rugby leagues in Britain. Established in the sport for 150 years, the Salford Red Devils have a rich history (you can read their story so far here).
The partnership will include the Red Devils’ first team players receiving weekly monitoring support from our UK-based Hawkin Dynamics staff, Dr. John McMahon, Dr. Pete Mundy, Jessica Calderbank, and Andrew Badby, throughout their 2024 season.
Dr. John McMahon, Hawkin Dynamics’ newly appointed Director of Research and Education said, “We are very excited to be working with Salford Red Devils this year. The learnings from this partnership will not only inform processes at Salford Red Devils regarding player availability and wellbeing, but also Hawkin Dynamics’ internal research and development, and customer education”.
Research and education are central to this partnership and involve Hawkin Dynamics working closely with the club’s sports science and medicine department to provide unrivaled insights into player recovery (fatigue/injury) and performance.
"This new partnership with Salford Red Devils compliments novel research being undertaken in parallel by Tom Shaw (Hawkin Dynamics' and Leeds Beckett University PhD student), across the entirety of the women’s Super League and elite men’s academies that will have a vast translational impact on applied practice”, says Dr. Peter Mundy, our Chief Scientific Officer.
We wish Salford Red Devils all the best for the 2024 season!
