ALPHONSO THOMPSON

Alphonso Thompson, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Sporting Kansas City of MLS. This is his 5^th season as Head S&C for the club while also having one year of experience leading the academy of Sporting KC in 2019. His direct responsibilities include implementing gym-based strength programming for the senior team, including variations for individualized performance enhancement and/or return to play. Alphonso also assists the Director of Performance in managing readiness in both the performance and rehab setting, utilizing Hawkin Dynamics Force Plates along with other related tech. 

Alphonso Thompson is from Sacramento, California, and holds a CSCS, bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Arizona State University as well as a master’s degree in Sport Psychology from California State University at Fresno.
